چکیده
Purpose: Dosimetric analysis and effect of different definitions prescription point “A” to OAR in high dose rate brachytherapy for cervical cancer. Methods Materials: This retrospective comparative dosimetric study is based on the data 25 patients with histologically proven carcinoma treated HDR (high-dose-rate) brachytherapy. Patients received 21 Gy three fractions (7.0 X fractions) A (AMAN, revised Manchester definition). Further, were replanned new (AABS) as per American Brachytherapy Society/ICRU 89 which defined CT images. The compiled was then compared observed from (AMAN). Results: When AMAN normalization method used, mean bladder at 0.1cc, 1cc, 2cc 5cc obtained 1121.2±54.5, 1058.7±44.1, 875.0±38.6, 780.5±35.9, 641.2±29.5 cGy respectively. Likewise, using ICRU-89 (ABS) method, 0.1 cc, 0.2 1 2 volumes 1178±156.1,1110.0±130.8, 921.6±111.4, 826.6±101.32, 673.3±80.9 cGy, For rectum, (MAN) plans, cc,1 rectum 680±143.5, 652.53±129.8,574.25±131.1, 530±126.9, 452.5±121.2cGy, plan, 0.2cc, volume 707.5±148.1, 678.7±128.7, 596.2±135.6, 551.25±127.44 471.25±122.64 statistical difference Total Reference Air Kerma rate, V100 (cc), bladder, found significant. Conclusion: present attempts analyze differences dose, well size enclosed prescribed Isodose curve following ICRU 38 ABS-ICRU recommendations about intracavitary cervix cancer With system being more static, i.e., lesser variation geometric changes, it preferable comparison ABS system.

PURPOSE To investigate the dosimetric difference due to the different point A definitions in cervical cancer low-dose-rate (LDR) intracavitary brachytherapy. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twenty CT-based LDR brachytherapy plans of 11 cervical patients were retrospectively reviewed. Two plans with point As following the modified Manchester system which defines point A being 2 cm superior to the cervica...

متن کامل”Maximum dose” points in cervical and endometrial cancer medium dose rate brachytherapy
Background: Best dose distribution in target volume and control of Organ at Risk (OAR) dose are the two main goals in brachytherapy. Materials and Methods: In this study in vivo dosimetry in 4 rectal points was performed by Transillumination Dosimeter (TLD) s and the measured doses were compared in different patients. One point was reported to have the maximum dose in each patient and the very ...
